Welcome to Kardias Consulting Services, owned by Brian Smith.

A lot of developer-type geeks like to talk about all of the technologies they know. I'm not that kind of guy. I guess I should mention that I do specialize in creating custom business applications using Microsoft .NET technologies, but that's about as far as I need to go with that. If you want more details on all of the technospeak gobble-dee-gook you can read my resume.

What I am more interested in is solving business problems. I'm passionate about excellent customer service. I want to add value to your company. I'm not happy unless you are excited because your job just became a whole lot easier.

Have you ever noticed how difficult it is to get a room full of businesspeople to agree on what they want from the system? Especially on the larger, mission-critical projects, the process of coming to a common understanding of the problem can be intensely frustrating. There is a reason that more than 70% of technology projects fail. From my experience, I can tell you that the failure is rarely the result of the technology selected. Failure is usually the result of the enormous complexity that occurs when you put a group of people together in a conference room and tell them they have to agree and play nicely together. Perhaps you've been in business meetings where no one agreed and no one was being "professional", let alone nice. It takes a strong leader to negotiate the needs of each of the individuals, and bring those together into a cohesive solution that solves the business problem.

And that's where I can help. I can help to get the agreement; I can help to understand the need; and then I can either write the system that will meet the need myself, or direct the developers who can write the code.
